The Space

We are located on the second floor of Bayou Place which is nestled downtown in Houston’s historic Theater District. We are directly across the street from the Wortham Center, Alley Theater and Jones Hall at 500 Texas Avenue, Houston, TX 77002.

With more than 15,000 square feet of contiguous space the venue offers a variety of capacity options for both intimate and large-scale events. We can hold seated receptions with a small stage and dance floor for 600 guests or a cocktail reception for 1000+ guests. We are able to also customize the rental area to accommodate more intimate events by renting out a particular area versus the entire venue, such as the Smith Ballroom, Texas Ballroom, or our expansive balconies.

The Ballroom is versatile enough to accommodate a variety of event types including weddings, corporate events, galas, birthdays, banquets, business meetings, networking events, public events and more.

Yes, with floor-to-ceiling windows and two sweeping balconies, guests of The Ballroom are treated to a striking backdrop of the Houston skyline and the ability to create an open-air environment to enjoy the view.

Our Services

We require that you use our in-house catering team or obtain approval from our event team if you require an outside caterer to meet your cultural requirements. This ensures that your event will have an impeccable, full-service catering experience, so every facet of your event meets our standard of service.

The Ballroom has a full mixed beverage liquor license and offers cash or hosted premium bar packages that can be custom designed to fit your group’s needs. Our bar packages come complete with all bar staff that would be required for impeccable service.

Guests will have access to our valet service and Bayou Place sits atop a 4,000 space Theatre District garage, with elevator access directly into the venue.

Our in-house tables and chairs are complimentary with all venue rental space. We offer tables in all sizes to accommodate anywhere from 4-12 guests per table and our rich mahogany-colored, rounded millennium chiavari chairs can be customized with either black or white cushions.

Our in house AV company can work with you to design a package for you according to your event needs.

Although we are open to working with all licensed and qualified vendors, we do have in-house capabilities through our other companies.

All payments to The Ballroom must be in the form of cash, check, money order and/or cashier’s check. We do accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express with a service fee for processing.
